|Name:||Taunton Green Spaces Volunteer|
|Organisation:||Somerset Wildlife Trust (Taunton)|
This wellbeing-centred volunteer group carry out habitat management work on some of Taunton’s greenspaces for the benefit of wildlife and the people who use the spaces.
Tasks including things like wildflower seed sowing, coppicing, scrub clearance, wildlife gardening, tree planting, litter picking, and lots more.
The organisation’s aim is the long-term care of our reserves and habitat improvement - to safeguard the county’s wildlife for the longer term; we lobby and campaign for wildlife; we work with landowners across the county farmers and private landowners to manage their land in a wildlife-friendly way; and we carry out wildlife surveying and record wildlife via our environmental records centre. We have about 10,000 memberships and we produce a magazine every four months. Our AGM is yearly in October. We manage over 70 reserves across Somerset
You don’t need any experience to join in as training will be given, however you do need suitable clothing, to be reasonably physically fit and enjoy being outside in all weathers!
