Step back in time in our delightful station . There is something for all ages and physicals fitness. Either work with the public in the station shop, or perform maintenance and restoration work on railway vehicles and/or site buildings. Enjoy our pleasant environment and super colleagues!
To form and maintain a museum for the exhibition of items of historic interest formerly belonging to old railways and in particular, but not exclusively, the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, such museum to be open to the public.
To educate the general public in old railways, railway history and, in particular but not exclusively, the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway and to show how these railways affected the industry of the area.
No specific qualifications are needed. Mechanical or engineering skills would be useful if you chose to work with the steam engines and vehicles. Much of the skills necessary are basic ones from wielding a paintbrush or attending to the flowerbeds and verges to handling cash in the shop and being friendly to customers. Perfect for the active pensioner but all ages are more than welcome.
